People often call wanting Hunting, Hiking, Fishing, Camping or places to 4 Wheel so I thought I
would start this page to give some info that I have seen walking the properties. Email me with
specific questions and I can give you a good idea of what you will find there.
There are lots of public access areas around any of the properties I have listed. Since we are in
Dunlap I will use that for my reference point. We are App. 30 miles from Nickajack Lake and
Chickamauga Lake and the Tennessee River. App. 40 miles to the Caney Fork, Calfkiller and
Collins Rivers and they have Bass and Muskie Fishing. The Bridgestone, Firestone Wilderness
area for hunting, fishing, hiking and kayaking is App. 40 miles away. Savage Gulf Natural area is
15 to 20 miles depending on what road you take and App. 25 miles to Fall Creek Falls State Park
with the biggest waterfalls in the East, boating, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, zip line, golf and
camping are available there. App. 20 miles to Prentice Cooper State Forest and Wildlife
management area for hunting, hiking and 4 wheeling. Patton Unit wildlife management area is 10
miles. Several large Wildlife Management areas are with 60 miles. Cumberland Trail, Soddy Gulf
and Chickamauga Gulf State parks are all App. 15 miles away. Chickamauga Gulf is a well know
hard core Kayak area and the Cumberland trail goes through those 3. The Sequatchie River is
125 miles long and runs through the valley and is great for fishing and waterfowl hunting or an
afternoon float. There are several private hunting clubs you can join and also trap, skeet,
sporting clays and rifle ranges in the area. Within an hour you have several major lakes not
listed and other state forests. We are App. 3 hours to the Smokey Mountains and several rivers
there have trout fishing. There are numerous craft fairs that happen in this area and some local
museums. Numerous Golf Courses within 30 or 40 minutes. This is just a few of the highlights
for the area. Look under area for photo's.
Go to Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency for info on most anything you would
want to do outdoors in the state. Several state forests have their own web sites.
